Our commitment to protect your data, while ensuring that our clients are able to engage securely with our team via online and offline different channels.

Protecting the privacy of your personal information is important to the firm. We are committed to collecting, using and disclosing your personal information responsibly and securely (“I”, “me”, “we”, “our”, and “my”,  when referring to an advisor, include an incorporated advisor). 

The personal information being collected, such as contact information, financial information as well as records of  meetings and phone calls, general correspondence and any instructions you provide to me, will be maintained by Shiyun Financial Services Inc. and our MGA Citistar Financial, stored securely in a locked client file (password encrypted in case of electronic files). This information will be used  to assess your financial situation, offer products and services that may be of interest and benefit to you, and provide  ongoing client service. 

Your personal information in your client file will be disclosed only to:

  • Shiyun Financial Services Inc. Dba. SY Wealth (henceforth to be referred to as the “firm”) and employees and persons authorized by the firm.

  • Our MGA Citistar Financial and employees and persons authorized by the firm.

  • Companies whose products and services that the firm offersand their employees and agents, for the purpose of, or relating to, their providing or seeking to provide financial products or services to you (and for, or related to, any other purposes you have authorized) 

  • Third party service providers selected and authorized by the firm. If located outside of Canada your personal information may be subject to the laws, including public authority access laws, of other countries

  • Persons or entities to which you have granted access or that are allowed access by law 

  • SMS Mobile opt-in information and consent are not shared with anyone for any purpose, and are thereby EXCLUDED from any other sharing you may be doing.

In order to serve ongoing client business and compliance needs, the firm will be required to retain certain client-related  documentation, general correspondence records, needs analysis form, and advisor disclosure form for only as long as it is reasonably necessary to allow the client and regulatory auditors to access those information. The firm will only retain personal  information only as long as necessary for the identified purposes for which it was collected. 

In accordance with applicable law and by your written request, you have the right to:

  • review the personal information in your client file

  • request corrections to this information

  • revoke your consent to further information sharing subject to contractual limitations

  • unsubscribe from SMS text, email and other forms of communication by contacting our customer service team (see form on contact page) or directly via SMS text by replying “STOP”

If requested by you, additional personal documents such as copies of insurance policies, wills and powers of attorney may  be kept in your client file.
